John is the Artistic Director and CEO at Waterperry Opera Festival, and has been the Artistic Director of Charles Court Opera for the last two decades.
Aside from his arts administrative experience, he is considered one of the most celebrated opera singers and directors of his generation, and has performed and/or created productions for, amongst others, the Royal Ballet and Opera, English National Opera, Opera North, Scottish Opera, Welsh National Opera, Opera Holland Park, Grange Festival, Garsington Opera, Nederlandse Reisopera, the BBC Proms, the BBC and CBBC.
He was a finalist in the ‘Rising Talent’ category at the International Opera Awards 2022.
