Bex Hand is currently the Head of Learning and Participation at English Touring Opera. Her work is underpinned by access and inclusion, working across arts and education sectors.
English Touring Opera currently commissions two new operas each year which tour to both SEND and primary schools nationally. They also deliver workshop programmes ETO Perform and ETO Lyrics designed for secondary schools and alternative provisions to explore and open up the world of opera. Bex worked at Barbican previously leading their award-winning Associate Schools programme, developing multiple bespoke projects for schools which put access for young people, artist and teacher collaborations and SEND schools at the heart of the schools offer. She started her career working in a large comprehensive school in Lewisham and at Peckham Shed, an inclusive theatre company, which still inspires her practice over fifteen years later.
