Our Privacy Policy is a legal statement that explains how we may collect information from you, how we may share your information, and how you can limit our sharing of your information.

We understand that data should only be collected and processed when absolutely necessary.

We will never sell, rent or otherwise distribute or make public your personal data.

3. Personal information we collect and why we collect it

This website collects and uses personal information for the following reasons:

Site visitation tracking

Like most websites, this site uses Google Analytics (GA) to track user interaction. We use this data to determine the number of people using our site, to better understand how they find and use our web pages and to see their journey through the website.

Although GA records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, none of this information personally identifies you to us.

GA does also record your computer’s IP address – which could be used to personally identify you – but Google do not grant us access to this.

We consider Google to be a third party data processor (see relevant section below).

GA makes use of cookies, details of which can be found on Google’s developer guides. FYI our website uses the analytics.js implementation of GA.

Disabling cookies on your internet browser will stop GA from tracking any part of your visit to pages within this website.

Should you choose to contact us using an email link like this one, none of the data that you supply will be stored by this website or passed to / be processed by any of the third party data processors defined in the section below.

 

4. How we store your personal information

As detailed in section 3 above, there are no occasions where your personal data will be captured or stored.

In the near future if personal data was to be captured, the aim would be to store the data in a pseudonymous fashion meaning that the data would require additional processing using a separately stored ‘key’ before it could be used to identify an individual. The Privacy Policy would then be updated and the new version re-posted here.

 

5. About this website's server

This website is hosted by SiteGround within a UK data centre near London.

Some of the server and data centre’s more notable security features are as follows:

  • All servers to use the latest PHP 7 version with the latest security fixes.
  • Servers are running Apache in a chrooted environment with suExec.
  • Servers have sophisticated IDS/IPS systems which block malicious bots and attackers.
  • ModSecurity is installed on all of our shared servers and we update our security rules weekly, thus protecting our customers from the most common attacks.
  • SiteGround uses geographically distributed data centers and stores all production data in physically secure data centers. SiteGround Sub-processor’s production data centres employ measures to secure the access to data processing systems. They have an access system that controls access to the data center. This system permits only authorised personnel to have access to secure areas. The facilities are designed to withstand adverse weather and other reasonably predictable natural conditions, are secured by around-the-clock guards, CCTV monitoring, access screening and escort-controlled access, and are also supported by on-site back-up generators in the event of a power failure.
  • The data center electrical power systems are designed to be redundant and maintainable without impact to continuous 24/7 operations. In most cases, a primary as well as an alternate power source is provided for critical infrastructure components in the data center. Backup power is provided by various mechanisms such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) batteries or diesel generators which are capable to provide emergency electrical power supply or reliable power protection during utility brownouts, blackouts, over voltage, under voltage, and out-of-tolerance frequency conditions.
  • Infrastructure systems have been designed to eliminate single points of failure and minimize the impact of anticipated environmental risks. SiteGround Sub-processor’s production equipment and facilities have documented preventative maintenance procedures that detail the process for and frequency of performance in accordance with the manufacturer’s or internal specifications. Preventative and corrective maintenance of the data center equipment is scheduled through a standard change process according to documented procedures.

 

6.  Our third party data processors

As detailed in section 3.0 the only third party that processes data on our behalf is Google. They comply with the legislation set out in section 2.0. They are based in the USA and are EU-U.S Privacy Shield compliant.

 

7. Data breaches (if we were to be storing personal data)

We would report any unlawful data breach of this website’s database or the database(s) of any of our third party data processors to any and all relevant persons and authorities within 72 hours of the breach if it is apparent that personal data stored in an identifiable manner (of which there are currently no instances on this website) has been stolen.
